ABBEY LEISURE CENTRE
includes a 25 metre Leisure Pool, JASPERS Fitness Suite, Fitness
Classes, Sports Hall, Junior Activities, All Weather Pitch,
JASPERS Health Suite & Solarium, Waterfront Cafeteria, and a
Créche.
CHILD ADMISSION POLICY
Unaccompanied children under the age of 8 will not be permitted
entry to the pool. They must be accompanied by a responsible
adult over the age of 16 to be admitted.
Children under the age of 4 must be accompanied by an adult on a
one to one basis .
Children aged between 4 and 7 must be accompanied by an adult on
a maximum two to one basis.
These ratios apply only to public swimming sessions not to
school or centre run swimming lessons.
INDOORS
The Sports Hall can be hired throughout the day for a variety of
activities that include: Badminton, Roller Skating, Basketball,
Netball, 5-a-side soccer, Table Tennis and Volleyball. Bookings
can be made up to 7 days in advance.
JUNIOR ACTIVITIES
Soccer School. The Abbey Leisure Centre's Soccer School is
coached by Steve Rollinson. It involves skill development,
tactics and teamwork.
ROLLER SKATING
This is fast fun for blades and skates for the under 16's. The
disco lights and DJ all add to the enjoyment, so come along and
get moving. Fridays - 7pm to 9pm.
TUMBLE TOTS
Available during school term time, this is a leading national
pre-school active physical programme for children who are
walking and up to 4 years of age. For bookings please call Val

WICK-KID
The School Holiday activity club for 8-14 year olds, comprises
of swimming and sports in a day long session. Look out for the
FUN-KYDZ activities in the school holidays.
CRÈCHE
Enjoy your chosen activity at the Abbey Leisure Centre knowing
that your child is having fun in the safe environment of our
crèche.
Choosing a Fitness Class. Abbey Leisure Centre has graded its
fitness classes from 1 to 3 to help you choose the most
appropriate class for your needs.
Level 1 - Beginners
Suitable for people who are new to exercise, or have not
exercised for some time. They are also suitable for the regular
exerciser wanting to work at low intensity.
Level 2 - Intermediate
Suitable for the regular exerciser wanting to develop and
maintain a good level of fitness.
Level 3 - Advanced
Designed for those with an established high level of fitness,
offering a more intense and challenging workout. |
