Selby College Selby College offers a range of courses and other leisure services to suit you and your family – no matter what your age, stage of education or interest. Selby College is a highly acclaimed organisation achieving some of the highest results in the country. The college provides a leading sixth form for students leaving school, Apprenticeships for 14-16 and 16-25 year olds, courses for adults and for employers. It even provides a range of Higher Education Degree level courses through links with Hull University, Leeds Metropolitan University and Huddersfield University. Selby College’s facilities are second to none in North Yorkshire with its £4m Academy building being joined by a new £2.5m building, which opens at Easter 2006 providing state of the art learning opportunities to all age groups
The college has become one of the leading providers of Education in the country, achieving a 95% pass rate for vocational courses. 17 out of 23 ‘A’ Level subjects received an amazing 100% pass rate including Accounting, Business Studies, Computing, Drama, Economics, French, Further Mathematics, Geography, History, Psychology, Sport etc. As well as consistently high examination results, the college has also received excellent independent ALI and OfSTED inspection results including outstanding Grade 1s in Mathematics and Science and was commended for the following key strengths. - Good teaching and learning - 82% of full time students gaining Higher Education places - Effective pastoral and academic support - Very good use of technology
